Jackie Labanok is a Faculty Associate at ASU, teaching Stress Management Tools. In addition she is currently an employee at Banner MD Anderson Center where she specializes in assisting cancer patients with stress reduction tools that include yoga, meditation, breathing techniques and mindfulness.
Jackie has been teaching yoga since 2007. She completed her 200 hour yoga teaching training with Mary Bruce at SWIHA. In 2013 she completed the 300 hour Healing Emphasis Yoga Teacher training at Inner Vision Yoga with Jeff and Donna Martins.
She was originally drawn to yoga to help alleviate pain from scoliosis. What she found in yoga was not only pain relief, but also relief from anxiety and stress. She had been teaching yoga for about three years when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She feels that yoga helped her more gracefully navigate the challenges of the cancer treatments and helped her heal her mind body and spirit. Her joy and passion is sharing with others the tools that she has learned and that have helped her in navigating life’s challenges.
