Yoga is Diane Hastings’ muse, a source to glean inspiration from…..breathe, slow down, be deliberate, be authentic, be present, no comparisons, no judgement, show up, share love and the list goes on……Her highest hope is that she can pass this along with kindness and care to her students.
A late yoga bloomer, it was in her fourth decade that Diane fell in love with this moving meditation, when her aunt brought her to a “hot yoga” class. She was beginning to feel age creeping in but after committing to practice at least three times a week, she watched as her physical body became stronger and more flexible, while her mind become calmer and more focused. In short, the clock felt like it was moving backward. After realizing that yoga would be a priority and integral part of her life, in 2011 she went through training to become a Registered Yoga Teacher. She is dedicated to continuing the yoga education process and in the spring of 2013, obtained her Barkan Method Hot Yoga Teacher Training Level 2/3 certification, then in 2014 she completed the Master’s Level program at Yahweh Yoga, with an emphasis on helping students that have anxiety and/or stress disorders and received 500 hour Yoga Alliance certification. With an osteo arthritis diagnosis, herself, she tries to make yoga accessible to all, by challenging the preconception that one must be flexible to do yoga. She uses a balanced, down-to-earth approach in her instruction, while placing emphasis on the individual becoming aware of what they are needing in their practice, on any given day. Diane hopes to pass on her passion for yoga to any fellow yogis who walk the path with her.
